Happy New Year

I didn't do my workout on the wii yesterday because I was up at 3:30am and went to work to unload the truck and the driver unloaded soooo slow. I also broke a nail really bad. It is broke halfway down and I can't get it off. I came home and fell asleep on the couch and then I got up and made John some dinner and then fell asleep on the couch again. I'm going to work out today.

Day Off

So I had the day off today and I got up had some coffee, balanced the checkbook, took a shower and went to the Walmart for groceries and a new coffee pot. Our coffee pot needed to be thrown away. John had asked for meatball hoagies for dinner so I was making them and realized I didn't get a jar of Prego. So I'm going to make them tomorrow so tonight I made macaroni and cheese. I got a cheese cake at Walmart and we had that for dessert. I worked out today and the Wii said I lost 2.2 lbs. I like that better than yesterdays 2 lb gain. John's not feeling so good, hopefully he isn't coming down with something,

My Sunday

This morning I got up and went to work where I set Valentine Hearts planogram and filled it with merchandise. I also condensed Christmas merchandise and signed it with 50 or 75% off signs. Then I came home and we went to Chilli's for dinner but it was 9pm and John had been snacking all day so we got 2 appitizers and then we came home and I got on the WII fit and I did
a body test, which I'm supposed to do every day and I didn't know that and it told me I have gained 2 lbs since Friday and I'm supposed to lose 2.5 lbs in 2 weeks. I did a 30 minute work out and then played some bowling and tennis and golf. I'm tired now so I'm going to bed.

daily workout

I did my 30 minute workout this morning on my wii fit. This thing is so cool it is like working out
with someone instead of by yourself. Soooo cool. I love to bowl and play tennis too.

Excellent Christmas

We left Pa about 4pm on Christmas Eve and got to West Point about 8:30. We went to my brother, Shawns house. I was up til 2am and we slept till 6:30am. I got a Wii and a Wii fit and a GPS. I had to work today but John didn't so he hooked up the Wii and when I got home I worked out on the fit for and hour. This thing is awsome. I'm going to work out every day and see if I can tone up and loosed some weight.

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone. I have to work tomorrow night and then back again Christmas Eve morning and then off to Virginia for Christmas. It is sooo cold up here in Pennsylvania. This morning it was 13 and it didn't get out of the 20's. My employee Saleela gave me a wonderful scarf, hat and glove set that came in handy tonight. Tomorrow we are havng a little luncheon at work.

Almost here

Well the big day is almost here. Today we had alot of items on sale for 75% off. Even though the weather was bad we were quite busy. John was talking about going to see the grandchildren this weekend but they are expecting 7 to 11 inches of snow today and another 7 to 11 inches tomorrow. I have to work all weekend and his mom is leaving so it would be a great time for him to go but I wouldn't want him to go in bad weather. Jeff Dunham's Christmas special is on tonight. I need to watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, sometime before Christmas.
I'm going to take a nap now.

Winter weather

Well this morning I was sleeping in and my phone was vibrating so I answered it and it was my sister Amy. She said "guess where we are?" I said where and she said Edgewood Maryland at the Friendly's. She and her husband Rich took my parents to NYC to see the Rockettes. So after the phone call I got up and got ready for work and went to work. When I got to work it was sleeting and then through out the day it turned to snow and back to sleet and then to rain. Hopefully the fam got to NYC and home ok. We used to live in Edgewood that is why Amy called me to tell me they were there. That was over 15 years ago. Wow time flies.

Last day off before Christmas Day

So I got up this morning and went and had my nails done and now I have laundry out the wazoo to do and then me and John are going to dinner for his work to discuss health insurance plans. I think I'm finished my Christmas shopping. I have a few to wrap. Yesterday at work I changed my password but when I went to use the new one it wouldn't work. So now I have to get my boss to reset it for me.

Shopping at Kohls

Last night I went to Kohls after work and I got the best leather gloves, a wonderful jogging set which I will use a lounge wear, and some slippers cuz I lost one of mine. So I got 15% off the sale price and I got a $10 dollar coupon off my next purchase. I think I'm going back tomorrow, they are open until midnight. Earlier this week I got gas a a gas station in Parkesburg and I paid at the pump and when I was done the pump said "please see attendant" so I went inside and told the attendant that I paid at the pump and it didn't give me a receipt and is that why I need to see the attendant? and he said which pump and how much and he rang it up again and I asked several times if I would be double charged and he said no. Well I was double charged so I have to go back tomorrow and tell them that I got charged twice, hopefully I get my money back and I won't be getting my gas there ever again.

Much Better

Pika is feeling better. This morning he was back up on our bed so for him to get up there he must be better. Only 16 more days till Christmas.

Pika on pain killers

Hey all, this morning when I got up Pika was sitting on my pillow staring at me. I took him and Aptiva outside and when he was coming in he was crying out like he was in pain. Last year at the same time I took him to the vet for the same reason and she gave me some pain killers for him to take. I gave him one but he seems to be in pain. I held him for a while because he won't lay down or sit down. When I took him to the vet last year she told me to carry him up and down the stairs for 6 weeks.

Two days off before Christmas

Ok tomorrow is one of the two days I have off before Christmas. I don't feel like going shopping. I ordered one of John's presents tonight on-line. I still have to get my brother another gift. We still need to order the childrens gifts. I think I'm going to do all of my shopping on-line. I really don't feel like going into a retail store after spending 65 hours a week in one. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself tomorrow. I will probably knit cuz I need to finish this sweater before the baby comes. Now I must get my checkbook in order and pay bills.

Happy Birthday John. His brother is coming in from New Orleans this evening and his mom is cooking spagetti for his birthday dinner.

the book for you, all other titles will only be signed. Of course I have to work. Maybe John and his brother will go get one for me.

relaxing day off

Well I got up this morning as John was leaving. I stripped the bed and washed the linens and cleaned the bathroom and did laundry and I've been knitting on the baby sweater for Baby McLean. Its a really cool pattern, it starts with the right sleeve and then you cast on more stitches and the sleeve folds and the cast on stiches make the bottom of the sweater and the shoulder is seamless. Pretty cool. Then I have to shape the neck. I think I'm going to make one for my nephew John's baby next if I can stand to do the same sweater twice, but it is so cool I think I might be able to.

Sunday Sunday

Hello There,

While I was sleeping last night I was awoken by the vibration of my phone on the floor beside the bed at 3:09am. The only people that call me that early are the alarm company for Rite Aid, ADT. The motion in the stockroom had been tripped so I got up put my contacts in and started to get dressed, John was just coming to bed and he offered to drive me since he was still awake.
So we get in the car and start the journey to the store. As we were going down the road I thought I saw snow. We saw the biggest buck on the side of the road just standing there thank goodness. We got to the store and the police had just gotten there and he came in the store with me and I told him I would follow him since he has the gun. We went to the stockroom were it looked like a box had tumbled down the belt and Bounty papertowels were all at the bottom. So while driving to the store we noticed that just after we turn off the bypass there was an accident so when we left the store to come home we went by to see if we could see what happened at the accident scene but they were just finishing up and we couldn't tell anything. So we got home at 4am and I went to sleep for 3 more hours. Loosing that hour this morning really made me tired today at work. I'm off tomorrow and I'm getting the spare room ready for John's brothers arrival on Wednesday.

The McLean Thanksgiving

I worked 1/2 a day and then we went to Annie's and Andrew's for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived a little before 2pm and Steve, Vicky, Danny, David, Chris and Elizabeth arrived a few minutes later. Annie showed us the nursery and the furniture they picked out is beautiful. Me and Vicky helped Annie put the bedding on the bed and it was more fun than putting up a Christmas tree. We sat around and talked for a while and then it was time to eat. Everything was soooo good. Well I got to get knitting only 5 more weeks until the baby's arrival.

Black Friday

Well my Black Friday started at 3:30am but not to go shopping, to go to work. I unloaded the truck by myself, because my assistant was at Kohls shopping. John came to help me as I was unloading the last totes. He helps me put the empty totes back on the truck. It is so nice of him
to come help me so early even when he doesn't have to work. I left work at 3pm and went to the grocery store to get rolls for tomorrow. I'm watching Jeff Dunhams Christmas special, He is sooooo funny. John doesn't think he is funny. I can't believe he doesn't think he is funny.

Thanksgiving is here

Well tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I have to work til 3pm. I don't think we are going to be busy. I didn't schedule a cashier, that will be me. That will help me save in payroll and use more on truck day. My regional Vice President was in the area yesterday but he didn't come to my store. He will probably come today. I have to drop off a transfer at another store today and then I'm getting my nails done and then off to work.

Nice weekend away

Ok well it snowed all day on Friday and John got home about 4pm and we left at 5pm with the snow still falling and me driving. When we got into Maryland the snow was on the road. On 95 the road looked wet but it wasn't snowing anymore, until south of Baltimore and then it was snowing hard. We got to John's brothers house about 7:30 and dropped John's mother off there for the weekend. It was soooo cold. So then off for the second leg of the trip, it was 8:30 and I knew another way to 95 instead of going back to 495. We got to my parents at 11pm. John slept that whole leg. We got up Saturday morning and got ready for the day and then went to Sandra's and Shawns about 11am and stayed until 7pm, Seths birthday was Saturday and he had a party. He got lots of money and great presents. He wanted his gifts under the tree, so when he opened his gifts he was facing the tree with all of his friends behind him, it was so cute. We went over to my parents neighbors house to see there house they are building and see how they have come along since we were home for Crab Carnival. Mike was installing tongue and groove wood floors. Wow what a job. Lindsy was tiling the shower. Then we went to Jennifer and Billy's to watch a movie so we saw Christmas with the Kranks. I fell asleep and missed alot of the movie. On Sunday we got up and had a big breakfast prepared by daddy and then we went Christmas shopping in fast forward. Jennifer made me a list and we went from place to place very quickly. Then we came home and ate Thanksgiving dinner it was sooo yummy. My cousins Patsy and Richard came for dinner and Patsy brought gifts for a Yankee swap. It was so much fun.

Wake up call

So Its my first day off in over 3 weeks and I am awaken by Aptiva barking and she only barks when someone is in the driveway or the traffic stops or a horse and buggy goes down the road, so I get up and look out the window and there is a state trooper at the end of the driveway and a suv in the field and snow on the ground, yes snow. We are expecting 1 to 3 inches. We have about an inch now.

Looking forward

So I finally have a few days off at the end of this week. We are going home to West Point for my nephews 7th birthday party and my mother is cooking Thanksgiving dinner for me. I can't wait.
I sooooo need a day off. John's mother got home tonight, she said it was 86 degree yesterday in Miami. We went out to dinner after John picked her up at the airport and when we came out of the restaurant a state trooper was in the parking lot and a girls car was broken into, the passengers front window was busted out. The car was parked in front of John's car. Boy are we lucky it wasn't one of our cars. Like I have the time to take my car to get the window fixed.

Rainy Saturday

Well another week gone. It will be Christmas before we know it. My sister Jennifer has almost
completed her shopping. My other sister, Amy is in Nebraska at Silver Bella. John's mother comes back tomorrow from her 3 week birthday present. Next weekend we are going to West Point for Seth's 7th birthday party. I have Friday off and I need a day off sooooo bad.

Cold Cold Cold

I'm not ready for the cold weather. I is cold tonight, it is supposed to go down into the 30's tonight and only be in the 40's tomorrow. Burrrrr.... I have to go to a meeting tomorrow in Harrisburg. We are supposed to learn about changes to policies in Human Resources. The company is cutting were ever they can. We seem to think they are going to cut out deliveries. This would cut out car leases, gas and a 40 hour a week associate. I got a call today from our Loss Prevention manager, she asked me if I had anyone I could send to another store to cover for about an hour while the store has a profit enhancing meeting with associates. It will be good to see Dee, I haven't seen her since the Managers meeting in Baltimore. She broke her arm this summer and was still in a sling while in Baltimore, so we took care of her while there. I'll fill you in tomorrow about the meeting.

John's first poker game

Well I got John to go to Ruffini's last night and play some poker. It doesn't cost anything to get to play and you can will $100. I went over after work and sat at the bar and had a cheesesteak
sandwich and fries and a beer. I kept looking over to see how he was doing and he had a pile of chips in front of him. Later they combined tables and he moved around the table. A bit later I look over and he's gone, so I went outside to see if he was smoking and the car was still there so I came back in and called him and he was on his way home. He didn't see me sitting there and so he left. I was flabergasted. I couldn't believe he didn't see me. I was even parked right beside him. Oh well. So the Giants won. I would have been something if he won the $100 or even the $50 gift certificate (second place) to the restaurant. They have really good food and martini's.
He will probably go back and play again. I'll keep ya posted. This is practice for Alantic City.

Try to do the right thing.

I had to go back and forth with my boss this week to keep my assistant at 45 hours a week. He said she was going to do it though the holiday and they may have to transfer her after the first of the year and get me a salaried assistant. I didn't tell my assistant because things may change before the new year and she had asked for a transfer so I didn't think she would mind. My what drama I go though at work.
So If you didn't know this is the last season for ER and they are bringing back George Clunney and Dr. Carter. It's going to be a great season. Well off to bed I've been up since 3:30am.

Christmas Set

Hello All,

I've been working like crazy this week. I was supposed to have off Sunday and I worked till 6:30pm. Monday I went in to work insanely early and worked till 6:00 then went to the grocery store to get stuff for us to eat this week. Yesterday I got up early went and voted and then off to
work and I worked til 10pm last night. Today I went in at 7:30 and worked til 5:30. Well It paid off Christmas is set except for where the Halloween candy is left. My boss came in today and I think he was happy about the Christmas. I still have some issues but they will get done next week. I don't have a day off til the 21st of November so I can go home for Seth's birthday.
I finished the book I was reading, Odd Thomas. It is a really good book.

They did it!

The Philly's did it, they won the World Series. The people in Philadelphia are out in the streets
celebrating big time. Vicky, I did take John's mother to the doctor last week. She was sounding
better last week before she left to go to Annie's.

World Series...

Well it could be over tonight. Right now the Philly's are winning 4 to 3 in the top of the 8th. Its been painful wait. Philadelphia needs to start winning something. Yesterday just north of Philly got 3 inches of snow and the Poconos got 13 inches of snow. I'm not ready for the cold much less
the snow. Next week it is supposed to be in the hight 60's. Since John's mother is gone for 3 weeks I have cooked. I went to the grocery store Monday and made dinner Monday night and tonight and I'll cook tomorrow. Then I have to work Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday be I don't have to work all day Sunday, just until the Christmas is complete, which could be all night. I'm going to dress up for work on Friday. My mom made me a poodle skirts a while back and I painted white tennis shoes to look like saddle oxfords so I'm going to be a Rite Aid manager from the 50's. I will post pictures Friday. Tomorrow is truck day I have to be at work and ready to unload the truck at 5am. Ok well Go PHILLY'S.

Work Work Work

Sorry I haven't blogged in almost a week. I've been waking up and going to work until 10pm and coming home and going to bed and waking up again and going to work. Today I'm off and I've already done 4 loads of laundry. John has requested meatball hoagies for dinner so I have to get out to the grocery store sometime today. I also need my nails done sometime today and I'm still in my PJ's. I'm reading Odd Thomas and I can't put it down. I worked at another store on Saturday night after opening my store and the power went off cuz someone hit a pole with a transformer attached so It wasn't coming back on that night. We left the store at 8pm it usually closes at 9pm but the power had been out for more that 2 hours and my boss said I could leave. I worked yesterday all day, I counted all of my holes in the store (empty spots with no merchandise) and I had 1345 holes. Wow thats alot of merchandise I don't have and a lot of missed sales. The truck is probably going to be huge this week. I also had to recount the cigarettes because our count we did on Friday didn't save for some reason. It was a waisted day for getting the stockroom emptied so I'll have to focus on that the next two days when I go back tomorrow. We have to have Christmas all set and ready by Sunday. I have alot of Halloween candy that needs to sell this week. Ok well back to reading.

Early Tuesday

This morning John had to be at work at 4am. He didn't come to be until after 11pm. When I got home from work this evening he had removed all of the air conditioners out of the windows and vaccumed the windows. It is cold outside and windy. I don't like the cold. If you haven't checked out the show Fringed on Fox you should it is really good. House was good tonight too.

Monday Monday

So I got up this morning and took the dogs out to a frost covered yard and 36 degree air, wow thats cold. Thank goodness it wasn't breezy. So I called the doctor at 8am to get John's mom a
doctors appointment but they don't open till 9 on Mondays so I called again at 9 and left a message and they called back soon after and we have an appointment at 11:30. She needs to get better before she flies on a plane. I'm reading Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, one of my employees let me borrow it and it is so good I can't put it down. I have housework to do but I can't do the laundry until the showers are taken so I figure I will read. I need to finish this baby blanket also and the baby sweater, the baby is due in January. I will be working 6 days a week from Thanksgiving to Christmas but I scheduled myself 6 days this week. I got to get caught up from my vacation.

Cool Sunday

It sure is a cool Sunday here in Cochranville. While we were on Vacation 2 weeks ago we take our 2 dogs, Aptiva and Pikachin to Hurrand Kennels in West Point Va. Kathy the owner has been keeping Aptiva cute since we got her 11 years ago. Kathy has a website for her Kennel and she took some pictures of Pika when he was there and she said she was going to post them on the site. Saturday and I'm off

Yahoo!!! I'm off on a Saturday. I wasn't originally off today but my assistant needed off Tuesday and she said she would work Saturday night so I jumped on that and said oh goodie then I can go
to the baby shower for my sister in-law. We were asked to write a letter to the baby, so I did that this morning with a little help from John. It's a bit brisk out this morning. Fall is here I guess. My sister Amy is featured in Country Living magazine this month, It is on a fold out page that has two aprons on the left side and then the right side folds out and she is named on the far right at the bottom and her project is the house on the right bottom of the page. TGIF

I slept in till 8am boy did that feel good, then I cleaned up the spare bedrooms a bit and put sheets on the beds for family that is coming up to go to the baby shower tomorrow. I'm off to work now and I work till 10pm so I'll probaby be too tired to do anything when I get home. I have a lot of work to do today at work, thats why I'm going in a little earlier than I'm scheduled.

Bosses Day

Today is bosses day and 3 of my employees bought me a card. We were having a good day getting the truck out. Then we found out that McCain was down the road at the Sports Center
speaking to voters. The police were all over. They closed the road and we heard that a lot of white vans went by with police in front and in rear.

Tough times

Today I got a sysm from my boss that I had to cut 8 hours from this weeks schedule, thank goodness I had an employee that can't work her 8 hour shift on Saturday. I wrote the schedule for Halloween week and I had to cut some people that week, the week that we have so much to do and it is supposed to be busy. I can't hire anymore employees because I don't have the hours to give someone new. Its getting tought but I don't think it is going to be any different anywhere else. I got a thank you note from my friends that got married last month and they enclosed a photo of them leaving the church, that was so nice of them to do that. They look so wonderful.

Back to work

Well going back to work wasn't so bad. I was up before the alarm sounded this morning. I got to the store and read my 139 sysm's (email) and all of the little notes everyone left for me. The store looks really good and tasks got done. The girls did a wonderful job while I was gone. Only one employee quit which is not bad. We got home last night at around 7:30 and went to Chilli's for dinner. Then we unloaded the car and I unpacked the suitcases. I was exhausted so I read for a while and went to sleep. John came to bed at 4:45am, he fell asleep in the chair. I got off on Saturday to go to the baby shower, which is a sweet surprise. My assistant Kathy called me and asked me if she can have off Tomorrow and she will work Saturday night so I said sure that way I can go to the shower. Now when Vicky comes up I can spend some time with her. It seems like whenever they come up I always have to work and we don't get to spend much time together. Well I have some beer left over from vacation so I think I'm going to have one.

Kickin myself

I wanted to go see the house that was in The Nights in Rodanthe but I didn't go. I should have gone today but I didn't want to drive because I wouldn't know where to park or stop. The house has been condemed and may not be there next year.

Last day

Hello All,

Today was supposed to be a beach day all day but when we got up this morning there wasn't any beach and the wind is howling. The waves are rough also. So the day may not go as planned. I'm going to get out on the beach though, it may not be for as long as I excepted to be. We just finished breakfast, daddy fixed yummy omlets and biscuits and the children had pancakes. I think the guys are going to the pier to fish. The way the waves are today I don't think we are going to see any Whales today. But I will update if we do.

Crab Carnival booth

Hey all,

My booth at the Crab Carnival in West Point last Saturday did very well. I made $536. I just about sold out of small sizes in every fabric. I guess small dogs get dressed up more that larger dogs. My parents fixed a huge spread of food for all that came. My cousins came and brought goodies. My Sisters and brother were there with there families. My brother brought his golf cart to my parents so we could transport people back and forth to the booth area and parade. My nephew who is 6 loved to drive the cart around the yard and my sister who is thirty-something loved to drive people back and forth downtown. John didn't like to drive back and forth too much. We all had a great day. It's just so awsome selling selling selling.

Outer Banks Vacation

Today we had a whale in the ocean right out from the house. It was awsome.
