another snow storm barreling down
So I got up this morning, had a cup of coffee and got in the shower to get this day underway. I had a list of things to do and get at the store. I lost one of my gloves in the last snow storm so I needed to go to Kohls to get another pair, so we started out getting gas and I found my lost glove in my purse so I didn't need to go to Kohls so we went to the Walmart right there by the gas station and I got my Oil changed and new windshield wipers put on and we got milk and OJ and coffee creamer. I also got my car washed on the way home to get some of the salt off before more gets layered on. We also went by the mechanic on the way home to see if they could fix our snow blower. Then we drove down to Delaware to get a carton of cigarettes for John since he will be stuck in the house for a while. I also got a bottle of wine to enjoy tonight. I was going to go to work tonight and spend the night there instead of driving in the morning, but John said I will do fine in the morning, so I hope he is right. I got a text from my assistant manager telling me that my favorite District Manager got fired today. He was a great guy but I guess the managers that like to slack didn't like him too much. We are waiting for the shop to call us to pick up the snow blower I hope they got it working, we went by there on the way back from Delaware and he got it started but it wouldn't stay running. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The Big One
So it started snowing on Friday afternoon about 4pm. You could here the wind howling all night long and when I got up at 5:30am to get ready for work, I looked out and couldn't see much of anything but snow. So at 6:30 I went out to clean off the car but it was pretty much cleaned off because of the wind. There were some spots in the yard that had no snow and then other spots that had 3 feet of snow. So I went back inside to warm up and get my coffee ready for the trip. Well I went out with my coffee, bag with shoes for work and other essentials for work and my purse. I put the car in 4 wheel drive and started out and got about a car length and got stuck. So I got the shovel and started to dig out, then John came out to help and he shoveled and I tried to go back and forth with the car but no luck. Then coming down the road is a tow truck with a plow on the front and we asked him how much to plow the driveway and he said $75, we thought that was a good price for our long drive way so I ran inside to get the checkbook. So the man cleared the drive and got my car out from being stuck. So then off I go again and I got out on Rt 10 which is right in front of the house and got about 50 yards and then I was stuck again. So I asked the tow truck driver if he would pull me out, so he put chains on his tires and pulled me out, while I waited for him to pull me out a tractor trailor tow truck came down the road and one of the guys jumped out and started yelling at me asking where was I going and I said to work and he said where do you work, I told him a Pharmacy and he said go back in the house and stay there. Well this guy isn't my boss, which expected me to be at work at 8am, and now its is 7:34am and I wasn't going to make it in by 8am. So I called my boss and told him I wouldn't be there to open at 8 and I couldn't leave until a plow truck when down the road. He said just get there as soon as you can. Oh it also cost me another $40 for the guy to pull me out of the road. So I went in the house and waited til a plow truck went by. We watched truck after truck get stuck in front of the house. Finally at about 10am a road grader with a huge plow on the front went by so I said ok I'm trying again. So I suited up and started out, I saw 2 more cars stuck and a car abandoned that has slid off the road into some trees. I followed the grader plow up to almost rt 30. So I took my time and got to work at 11am and we actually had customers as soon as I opened the doors. A guy that was walking bought some chips, a soda and some cigarettes. Another guy that was driving came in for a greeting card. Then a bunch of guys with a woman came in and she got a prescription and the guys bought soda's and one bought a movie. A guy came in for diapers, another for gloves, a bunch of guys came in for snacks and cigars, a woman came in for a prescription and a paper. I was there as a cashier until 2 when Dave came in and then I could get some work done and at 3:15 my boss called and said we could close at 4pm. We hadn't had a customer in about 30 minutes. at about 3:30 a 93 year old man came in to get his prescription, I said he doesn't need to be out in this mess he could fall and break hip. The car he was driving looked like he had hit something, the passengers side headlight had a big black skid mark on it like he him a tire or something. Then at 3:55 a woman called to see if her doctor called in a prescription and he had it was on the message machine so the pharmacist filled it and I asked her "so you will pick this up tomorrow because we are closing at 4pm" and she said no I'll be there before 4. So then she called back and said she would be there in 1o to 15 minutes. We waited until 4:30 and she didn't show and we didn't have a phone number for her to call to see if she was coming so we left at it was now 4:40 and I was cleaning off my car and she pulled up into the parking lot, I'm sure we will have a complaint called in on us for not waiting for her. Oh well If we waited anymore she probably wouldn't have come. The company wanted us home before it got dark and the roads froze over. I got home fine, the roads still had snow on them and in someplaces the snow was still drifting on the road. I was glad to get home. It was a tiring day.

frustrated.....
Ok, I'm frustrated at work, I'm frustrated at home. Serenity now. Lets start with work, I'm training a girl to be a shift supervisor, and I've taught her stuff over and over again and she looks at me today like shes never seen the stuff she is doing. OMG She wrote some stuff down and did have some stuff written down. I was only supposed to work until she got there this morning at 11:15 but I stayed until she completed the deposit and paperwork. Now for home. I look at the computer room and it is a mess, stuff just piled up and new stuff still in the box never opened. I asked John to throw out 1 thing a day. I don't think that is hard to ask since there is broken stuff and empty boxes and stuff he hasn't touch since we moved into this house in 1998. Then I look at the porch and there is stuff boxed up sitting there since we moved his mother in 2 1/2 years ago. Not to mention the attic and the hall to the attic. Wow this is alot of work. I also want to pain the computer room and redecorate it. John has been out of work since Sepetember and the computer room looks worse than ever. He's going to have to start getting rid of some stuff and cleaning up. He is also smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day. This is awful, so any encouragement from anyone to get him to quit will be greatly appreciated. I bought him a boat 4 years ago and he was supposed to quit but it didn't happen. Now that he has time on his hands maybe he will go see a doctor about it. I would like to have him around for a long long time.

Wonderful Trip
Hello all, It has been a long time since I've written. Christmas was great, my boss gave me off the weekend after so we got to stay in West Point until Sunday. Then we went to Annies the weekend after for Maddys birthday party. And I believe I had one other day off since then. I had inventory on Monday January 18th so I worked very hard and long hours to get the work done. Inventory went well and my figures came out pretty good. So the weekend after inventory me, Amy, Jennifer and Momma went to New York for a day of Crafting with Charlotte Lyons. We made tote bags out of old wool sweaters that had been felted. Mine turned out nice but pretty plain compared to the others which were lacy and flowery. They looked great too but its just not me. I brought home the pattern to make slippers. I should really make them before I forget how to. When I got home I bought both of Charlottes books. There are some wonderful projects in the one I have received all ready and I'm waitng on the other one. I hope to go back one day and get her to sign the books for me. She is such a nice lady. She picked us up at the train station. She was a wonderful teacher on Saturday. Oh yeah and she gave us a great tour of Irvington New York where we were. She went to dinner with us on Saturday and took my sister and Mom to church on Saturday and then drove us to our hotel on Saturday after dinner and picked us up and took us to Penn Station in New York City on Sunday Morning very early. She is an awsome friend. Suzanne made our lunch on Saturday and we got to see her beautiful Victorian house which was decorated so wonderfully. So today I'm off and I don't know what to do. I should clean the house. I really don't like to waste my days off staying at home. I do have to take John's mom to Walmart sometime today and John needs to take his glasses back because they aren't right. Yes John got glasses and his teeth fixed, he is a new man. My friends said I need to becareful or someone might scoop him away from me, getting him all done up.

: shopping
So today I got up took a shower, waited for John to get back from Physical therapy and then we went shopping, we started at Walmart and we got alot done there. We got all of the children done except Davian done there. We also bought a new trash can by simple human it is a nice stainless steel one. Then we went to Target but they didn't have what I was looking for so we went to Best Buy and got Davians gift and then to Radio Shack and go another gift and then to the Amish Stuff store and got another gift. So wala I'm done. I went to my work and made gift tags on the photo kisok and they are so cute. I took the picture of Daddy dressed as Santa holding Aptiva and Pika and put it on these gift tags and put To: and From: they turned out so good. I will make the rest when I'm at work on Saturday. So I'm supposed to be off tomorrow but if my assistants daughter has her baby then I will have to go in and open. Tomorrow is my last day off before Christmas. I have asked off for the weekend after Christmas but my boss didn't answer me via email so I guess he is going to tell me in person which means he might say yes. If he was going to say no he would say it in the email. He can't say yes via email cuz then he is probably afraid I will tell everyone and he will have to give everyone off. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I picked my sister in-laws name for Christmas and I got her one thing and I'm going to get a visa giftcard for the rest, that way she can get whatever she wants. I'm also going to get Annies two boys visa giftcards so they can use it anywhere.

It's almost Christmas
So its the 9th of December. I work tonight and I have alot of work to do because I'm off the next 2 days and I would really like to take them off since I only have 1 day off next week. I have to finish my shopping this week, because the next week is Christmas and I only have Christmas day off. I'm going to ask my boss if I can have off the Saturday after but I don't think he is going to say yes. But I can ask right? I'm trying to get John to help me pick out Christmas presents for his grandchildren. I ordered a book from amazon and I haven't gotten it yet. Its for a Christmas present and if I don't get it I have to get something else to replace it. I think I scared the heck out of John the other night. I told him he needed to record the book for his grandchildren that I bought from Hallmark. He even mailed it yesterday. I work Saturday night and Sunday night and Wednesday night and Thursday night next week. Man who the heck is the boss here.

trying not to be mad
So after John had his accident he told me he would never tell me no again. Well he tells me no all the time. He must of wanted to look good to someone when he said this. I ask him to go with me places and he says no. I say lets go somewhere for dinner, he says no. I ask if I can have Sandras dog cuz she has to give it away and he says no. No NO NO thats all I hear. Well we bought a Christmas tree. It is thin and 5 foot tall, and I got some cute garland and little mittens to put on it. I tryed to put light around the trunk but it didn't work like I wanted. Today I have to work tonight and I'm going to get my nails done. Tomorrow I'm off and it is John's birthday so we are going to meet Annie in King of Prussia for lunch and maybe some shopping. We found these cool trash cans last night at Reading China and Glass and John really liked them. I'm having some craziness at work. My District manager is giving me an assistant and I can't afford anyone else, so I had to cut to the bare bottom and add her to the schedule. I'm supposed to be promoting Rose from the pharmacy and he told me to put her on hold. I talked to her about it and she wasn't happy, which I don't blame her but I have a chance to get someone that knows what to do already instead of having to train someone. Also I have an assistant that wants to get transfered to another store. She had offended some of my associates and my District manager had to come and talk to her and now she said she isn't comfortable working here anymore. I'm also open 10 extra hours the week of 12-13 to 12-19 and I only got 8 extra hours to run the store. We are going to be open till 11pm and the pharmacy closes at 10 and I have to have at least 2 people in the store because it is too dangerous to only have 1 person by themselves.
